Zen and the art of blogging
Art imitates life
Well I now know I have been going to Bauhaus coffee & Books for way too long. So long that I am now immortalized there!
I was sitting at my usual table and doing my usual routine of enjoying my afternoon coffee while reading and going online, but this weekend there was a man painting there also. He sat quietly as he painted on his canvas. I didn't see exactly what he was painting because I didn't want to disturb him. Well, about 2 hrs. after I had sat down he comes up to me and says "I hope you don't mind, but I put you in my painting." I was both pleasantly surprised and touched! I asked if I could take a picture of it and he gladly agreed. He said he always told a person he painted that they were in a piece. I don't know who the girl was, and she wasn't there the day I was. What I'm most impressed with is how well he got the likeness of me. He said he doesn't paint people too much and was sorry for making me look a little "fat". We both laughed and I said, "No, actually I am on my well on my way to having a Buddha belly!"
The painting will be for sale and on display at his gallery in downtown also. If I had the money, I'd buy it!
