1 day, 2 buffets

Lunch time...and your hungry...and your with a friend. What's better than going to a all ya can eat asian buffet?! After a bit of deciding where to go, my friend Pete found a Korean place that has a Korean BBQ buffet for only 7 bucks! It was a bit far out, about 20 min. away, but he called the place and the woman said it goes til 3. We decided to go try it, there was another buffet that had Chinese food close by it anyways.

So, we drive up there and find a small faded yellow building with a green asian style roof and the parking lot is empty. Bad sign. Another bad sign was with the asian roof, it had old classic western saloon swinging doors for the entrance. But being that we just drove all that way, we ventured inside. Let me tell ya, I have never seen anything so weird or sureal. There was not a single person in the place! No customers, no staff, not even a hostess at the front desk. The place was really dark, and I think there was even some construction being done in back. Pete swore he heard people in the background when he called too! It was like something out of a ghost town scene. We kiddingly said it was all a 'front' and there was a speakeasy of some kind downstairs. LOL!!!

So, we quickly departed there and drove to the Chinese buffet that was a few blocks away. We both had eaten there a few times and knew it was a great place with a huge selection. My small asian frame went back 2 times and loaded up with Teriaki chicken, Shumai (seasoned ground pork wrapped in a circular noodle) egg rolls, deep fried shrimp, General Tsao chicken, broiled salmon and rice....I ended with a dessert plate of 2 butterfly cookies, 2 sesame balls (fried dough with sweet bean paste filling rolled in sesame seeds) and a little bowl of chocolate/vanilla swirl soft serve ice cream with chocolate chips, crushed cookie, and hot fudge toppings! Ohhh yeah! Suffed but sooo happy!

Side note: There really ought to be a rule for some people who make a major pig of themselves at buffets. I mean when a fresh tray of crab legs comes out from the kitchen, why do some people take like a 1/3 of the legs and pile it onto their plate! How about saving some for the other people who may want some. Gluttony is a sad and scary thing.
